Chisoka Simões participated in the session Culture of Migration: Exploring Migration as a Normative Behavior, where she highlighted the migratory path of the city of Braga, used as a case study, and the impact of the various migratory waves and the resulting cultural exchange, with concrete examples of these cultural transfers, from Roman times to the present day. With a contemporary focus, the migratory culture — both immigration and emigration — based on the population and its relationship with historical memory and cultural landscapes was explored to analyse the impact of migrations on the construction and transformation of the identity of territories.
