0The MigraMediaActs team organised the round table “Reinventing Democracy in a World of Insecurity: Challenges for the Social Sciences and Humanities“, which took place at the XV Luso-Afro-Brazilian Congress and IV Congress of the International Association of Portuguese Language Social Sciences and Humanities, held at the University of Cape Verde, Praia campus, Santiago Island, between 26 and 28 September 2023.
Rosa Cabecinhas moderated the round table entitled “Historical memory and the construction of alternative futures: young people and the decolonisation of knowledge“, which included the participation of Jacob Lussento Cupata (ISCE-Sumbe, Angola) and Armindo Armando (Licungo University, Mozambique).
Jacob Lussento Cupata presented, via zoom, a paper entitled “Social representations of African history in the narratives of young Angolans” and Armindo Armando presented a paper entitled “Social representations of secondary school students in Sofala province on the history of Mozambique“.
Rosa Cabecinhas presented a paper in partnership with Luiza Lins and Isabel Macedo entitled “The history of my country: reflections on the past and future from the perspective of young Portuguese people“. The debate was widely attended by participants from various Portuguese-speaking countries.
