0The International Seminar “Decolonizing knowledge: possibilities and challenges”, was held on 11 and 12 July 2022. The event, organized by the MigraMediaActs team, in partnership with the Centre for Communication and Society Studies (CECS), took place in person at the Institute of Social Sciences (ICS) of the University of Minho, and also online, through the zoom platform, with the participation of thirty researchers from different social sciences and humanities, from various institutions, from three continents.
Among the invited guests were, in person, professors: Giovanna Leone (Sapienza Universitá di Roma), Manuel Chaparro (Universidad de Málaga) and Susana de Andrés (Universidad de Valladolid). Digitally, researcher Fernando Gonçalves (Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – UERJ) presented a paper, and Professor Tristan Mattelart (French Institute of the Press, University of Paris) was online participating in the round table “Media, migrations and activisms”.
Throughout the day 11, presentations and roundtables were held to debate issues around migrations, media and decolonial activisms. Excerpts of the conferences are available on YouTube through this link.
